• Google Cloud Directory Sync is used for syncing accounts with Active Directory. It can sync passwords, but typically it only syncs NEW accounts. Main reason being it can read the encrypted passwords of existing accounts.
• G Suite Password Sync - Syncs passwords from Active Directory, but must run on your AD controller. Again, it can't sync old encrypted passwords, so a forced reset must be made so it can capture and set the initial password.
